Day 24 Nevada, MO to Pomme de Terre Lake (near Hermitage, MO) 76 bike miles; 1,746 cum miles)

He's BACKKKKK!!!!
Yes indeed, Charlie is back in the saddle as we leave Nevada!

We soon find Missouri to be rarely flat - it is a one ridge and valley after another. It was actually fun to gather enough speed going down the hills so as to make it up the hill without losing too much speed!
While curious, we do not deviate to check out Blackjack!

Bill can't resist the sights along the road, including a "new road". We pass through several small towns, and in Hermitage, we head about 3 miles to the south for a Corps of Engineers recreation area and campsite -
And what a beautiful and scenic campsite it was! It was located on a peninsula that jutted into the beautiful and clear Pomme de terra Lake (the Potato Lake!).

Bill had a nice chat with the park ranger and his wife, both Corps employees, who feel like they have died and gone to heaven, having the job that they share taking care of the camp ground.
We had a great dinner of Macaroni and tuna, courtesy of Martha, and then an enjoyable evening of Euker, while watching the sun set and colorful views of dusk.
